One of the three cases will happen each day:
Rainy morning, Clear afternoon
Clear morning, Rainy afternoon
Clear morning, Clear afternoon

Right?

Can you now assign variable(s) to the no. of days in each case and relate the variables with 11, 16 and 13 in some equations?

Let,the total days needed by Tanvir be M1+E1,where M1 denotes the total number of mornings and E1 denotes the total number of evenings. Now,without rain,M1+E1=29.........(1),again with rain,M1+E1=11.........(2);By adding (1) and (2)..we get M1+E1=20;therefore,the total number of days to climb the mountain will be 20.

let x be the number of days in which it rained in morning and y be in the afternoon
then 16+x=13+y and x+y=11
by calculating these equations we find x=4 and y=7.so total day is 20
