Such mathematical questions are called sequences. A sequence is an ordered list of numbers that often follow a specific pattern or function. The same pattern is followed throughout the function. It can be the difference between the 2 consecutive values of the same pattern. The difference is determined to identify the function.
There are various types of sequences that can be both finite or infinite. When the sequence goes on forever it is called an infinite sequence, otherwise it is a finite sequence.
