When Tanvir climbed the Tajingdong mountain, on his way to the top he saw it was raining
11
times. At Tajindong, on a rainy day, it rains either in the morning or in the afternoon; but it never rains twice in the same day. On his way, Tanvir spent
16
mornings and
13
afternoons without rain. How many days did it take for Tanvir to climb the Tajindong mountain in total?

A day comprises both a morning and an afternoon. And the order when it rained or not is not important

16+13+11=40
40/2 = 20
He climbed in 20 days .
In this 20 days it had not rained in 16 morning. So, it rained 4 times in morning. Same it rained 7 times in afternoon.
So, total 4+7=11 times is rained.

Since a day comprises both an afternoon and an evening, the initial task is to figure out the number of days. It is easier to do so by the provided information so that the process gets easier.
According to the information, we have 16 afternoons and 13 evenings. However, these aren't the only figures provided; there are other 11 days that he saw raining,
Hence 16+13+11= 40
Now we divide the number by 2 as the information is based on either part of the day
40/2 = 20 days
Out of these 20 days, as per the provided information, it rained for 4 days in the morning, and the rest 7 days it rained in the afternoon.
So it can be said that he spent 20 days on the hike.
