Use of the value of $g$

Can I use the value of $g=9.81$ to solve a BdPhO problem though it is not mentioned in the question.Please Help.

As I know g=9.8. It is different in different places of the earthl land. But the ideal rate is 9.8 m/s^2

As far as I know, you will be given the value of g if you require it. Can you send the question here where you think you have to use the value of g?

Sorry,I can't post it exactly.But it was a regional question of 2018 at Mymensingh .The question is about dropping water from tap and I solved it using the value of $g$ though it was not written in the question.
