We get fire in different colours .Sometime it is blue or like yellow, also red and u may see green........
But what's the reason of having different colours???? :?

There are different elements in gas and objects that burn. This elements when heated emit colored light. For example, the sodium lights on the street emit yellow lights when heated.

the main reason is the transition of electrons. they give various kind of ray having various kind of wave length. And each colored light ray have a specific wave length. When they match with them, they shows colors. thats why transition metals create colored compounds.

transition means the jumping of electrons from lower shell to higher shell. It also means the returning of electrons to its previous place.during this jumping electrons radiates energy.

When electrons get excited means get enough energy it tries to jump from the lower energy shell to the higher ones means electrons wants to go as much away from nucleus. But it can't stay too long in the higher shell as its unstable so it returns in its previous shell by radiating photon. If the wave length of the photon is in the visible light's range only then we can see it :)
