why so sun

Unread post by Asif Hossain » Sun Apr 11, 2021 10:13 am

Is sun the "main" source of energy or "ultimate" source of energy? IF it is the main source of energy then why so?

Cause the plants learnt how to convert the light energy to chemical energy. And each and almost every life on earth gets the energy from that chemical energy and convert them to some other form. So, the sun is the main source of energy of all the living elements on this planet.

Well, if the machine runs with solar power, then obviously yes. If it runs with oil, then that energy is coming from the energy stored by some life a few million years ago. If it uses energy that came from a nuclear power plant, then we can say it doesn't use sun power directly.

Then we can say sun is actually not the source of all energy right? (BTW isn't sun it self a nuclear plant?Meaning we are actually making use of the same process as sun)

Yeah, all the energy we use comes from some nuclear reaction.

Although the sun uses nuclear reaction to produce energy, its one is probably more environment friendly, unlike ours which uses nuclear fission and produces a lot of wastes(radioactive wastes which takes thousands if not million years to decay).

An interesting thing about the sun and nuclear energy on mars is,
The Mars rover sent by NASA in 2003-2004 was actually solar-powered. Which used solar panels for collecting energy. But unfortunately, martian dust used to cover those solar panels and resulting in the reduction of energy for the rover by tons. But a miracle happened that was small tornadoes on mars used to wash the dust away from the solar panels, so it Wasn't that bad. And in the next rover, they send probably "curiosity" had nuclear reactor attached to it. No solar power. Nice idea right? also an efficient one right?

Directly or indirectly sun the source of energy. All the plants, crops and collectively the agricultural industry depends on solar energy for the production of food. The food industry in turn becomes the base for several industries such as the medical industries for many several medicines are made from herbs, shrubs and spices, bacteria and viruses also act on food hence their study also depends on the food avalinal. The clothing/ fashion industry also depends on the sun, cotton is one of the most widely used raw products for the production of cloths and it comes as a plant. The electricity that we produce, which has become the sources of life, also depends on the sun. It is due to the heat of the sun that the fossil fuels are formed which are burnt to produce electricity.
