Fermi Problem aka taking moral lesson from physics:

Unread post by NaziaC » Fri Feb 25, 2011 9:11 am

Mr. TAB & Mr. TAM are two physicists working on the same project; Finally Mr. TAB becomes successful in finding out the actual stuff. Mr. TAM is enraged on Mr. TAB and decides to take revenge. So he builds a portable electron gun in which an electron is accelerated in between two opposite plates of a capacitor. In order for the electron gun to be lethal Mr. TAM has decided to have the electron shot at a regular velocity of a bullet (Typical muzzle velocity ~ 330/1800 m/s).
Estimate the voltage Mr. TAM would need to set up between the plates.
What moral lesson did you get from solving this simple (!) problem?
"Be less curious about people and more curious about ideas."
