Two questions about Cu-
[*]Why Cu2+ion is stable as it shows 3d9?
[*]Why 3d10 is not stable for Cu?

$3d 10$ is surely stable for $Cu$.

1st Q.-because 2 electrons, which have gone are the last electrons. 3d8 4s1 or 3d7 4s2 is not needed to make Cu2+ stable. These are containing an extra orbit. 3d9 in enough.

Why not " Cu1+"?
Because of degenarated orbital .Here you can get a detailed answer from a chemist.
