You have no idea what you are talking about. In which forum did you post exactly???? BDIO forum? BUET Contest forum? TopCoder? UVA? Codeforces? Codechef? SPOJ? Z-training? USACO forum? Google the names I just mentioned and see the forums with your own eyes. People stay up at night to help those who want to improve. Can you post the link in which forum you asked for help? Do you think you know enough about the Programming Community to make that comment?

People before you have participated in BDIO. All were "new-comer" once. One of them has won a Silver Medal,several of whom were BDMO Campers. How did they get the information required I wonder....

1. Then check out the 'reference's I mentioned and think twice about the comment you make about Programming Forums.

2. Next time,ask past BDIO contestants for information.

3. When I started in 2009, I faced your problem. But eventually everyone was so warm to help me out that I forgot all the difficulties I encountered to contact BDIO people. So please wait before you use language like "Taka khoroch hobe dekhe keu help kore na" and stuff.

4. Here is a website made by a previous IOI contestant. You will find A LOT of information regarding how to practice here http://smilitude.googlepages.com/ Its written in our Mother Tongue so it should help.

5. BDIO organisers lack money,sponsor and man power,but not sincerity. Again,before you blame someone directly,think about plausible excuses behind their actions.

6. BDIO has its own forum. If you have ever,just once in your life, searched Google for Bangladesh Informatics Olympiad forums or something,you would have found it. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/bd_ioi_training

7. If you can solve mathematical problems+just a little coding skills,you wont have any problem being 1st in Nationals ( I should not say it though,my best is 2nd ). If you had just searched the internet for ONCE for Informatics Olympiad problems ( not just Bangladesh's of course,every country has IO ),you would have found things.

8. Please do not try to fuse programming and HSC education. Its up to you how much time you want to devote for each and does not matter in any programming contests.

9. Finally, problems are just 'problems'. Its dangerous to categorise problems as mathematical,algorithmic etc ( I am quoting our Silver medalist ). All problem solving requires the same skill-the ability to think well.

10.Stop mourning about what could have happened and what should have happened. This is not your last BDIO. I guess you have at least two more BDIO,a total 3 years of time to improve enough for a Medal in IOI.

Then you dont know how to use Google. I have even found the website of Polish Ministry of Education where people can submit codes for IOI 2009 and CEIO problems.

bt bro,wtever we get any info from any forum/site,we should get it from the BDIO website firstly...as we r from a remote area....besides,methinks,BDIO site is run by a group of boss and genius guys/programmers/engineers.... so u guys should update the main site every year.....this forum /any other site isnt the main platform for IOI.....It has special site...like http://teacher.buet.ac.bd/mhkabir/bioc/

before today i knew 'the question type of divisional Informatics Olympiad is of different type.......i stated it before that i searched a lot on-net and found lots of question of previous xams.....bt today i came to knw its of totally different system of divisional round......

again, i called somebody who is a special person and very much favorite to me..i love him a lot.....bt i asked him more than 10times wt type of question i had to face....bt he didnt tell me that.....dont knw why..

from then,i became very much frustrated......wt i could do.?tell me..
after all,i wanna say,the main site of BDIO should b updated regularly.....where we can easily get necessary info for BDIO......never mind at my language....there is nobody to get my language well.....

I have to agree with you in this point. But I am (was) just a contestant. Try to understand that BDIO does not have any sponsor or money. The people who run the website and other things have a very busy schedule.

No one will tell you what 'type' of questions there should be! Its the surprise. But if you take it from me,then should appear in Nationals >

1. Some mathematical problems,exactly the type that appears in Mathematical Olympiad.

2. Some very easy programming problems-either they will be too easy coding task or some math+basic coding.

3. Greatest portion of the marks will be Algorithmic Problems. You have to demonstrate your ability to think 'algorithmically',prove that your solution will work ( prove to yourself! you dont have to write the proof in the answer sheet! ) and then program your solution with the programming language you are most comfortable with ( C,C++ or Pascal). This section can include from ad-hoc problems ( problems that require no knowledge of Computer Science ) to basic Computer Science problems ( basic Graph Theory? DFS/BFS/Shortest Path Algorithm) and basic Dynamic Programming ( which is what Mathematicians call 'Recurrent Relation' ). Last year a number theory problem appeared.

More advanced things like Segment tree,Binary Indexed tree,tough Dynamic Programming problems,problems that are combinations of different concepts ( binary search+BFS ) may not occur in National Olympiad right now.

How to prepare? Just make sure you know basic C ( for loops,arrays,strings ) and start solving from z-training/UVA/USACO/SPOJ. Once you are comfortable with C, learn STL from C++ and that should be enough language learning for IOI. Participate in Online Contests like TopCoder SRM,USACO etc. Make new friends from BDIO with whom you can practice. From TopCoder SRM's you can even find friends from other countries. If you do USACO,then USACO will teach you necessary algorithms. If not,ask someone else. People usually start by learning DFS,BFS.

Email someone more expert for more information and guidance. Trust me,one of them has trained me for 2.5 years!
