Is it very late to start my math journey and participate in IMO?

I'm 20 years old. Currently i'm preparing for my university admission. I'm very curious about learning math and physics. I never participate in any kind of math competition. I am ready for hard work. So, if i start learning mathematics more deeply and solve olympiad's question. then is there any chance I can perticipate in national olympiad and is my age is a big issue if have any olympiad exprience? I'm ready to hard work. So, am i late in this math journey?
