The orbiting fact

Unread post by rakeen » Wed Mar 16, 2011 4:10 pm

We know that the moon orbit around the earth and the earth does sun. Also the sun orbit around a center of a galaxy(milkyway). But does that galaxy orbit around any thing, and that 'any thing' does so... :?: so much to learn in this BIG SPACE

It's not really orbiting around, but galaxies also have gravitational systems. Our galaxy is part of a system called the "local group". It has about 30 galaxies and the center is between our galaxy and Andromeda galaxy as these two are the most massive. This local group is also part of a larges system call Virgo Supercluster which as hundred of such groups in it.
